Shad Valley is a month long summer program for over 700 students from
across Canada and the world. This opportunity is open to all students in
grades 10, 11 and 12.
Students stay in residence at various universities across Canada.
During the month students participate in a wide variety of STEAM (Science,
technology, engineering, art and math) based lectures, workshops, projects and
activities that will challenge them to think outside the box and make
interdisciplinary connections. Speakers include university professors,
business leaders, entrepreneurs and innovators. This is a highly
competitive program that is an excellent opportunity for any student interested
in science and engineering.
*Shad Valley offers a number of university scholarships. Any
student who has attended one of their programs is eligible to apply.
Date: July 1st – 27th, 2018
Location: Various Universities across Canada
Online Application Deadline: November 20th
*Please note: the application is quite involved and requires,
among other things, official documents from the school, a letter of reference,
and an essay to be written by the student. Please ensure you allow
yourself and the school enough time to get the required documents together if
this program is of interest to you. Acceptance into the program is highly
competitive, so it is important that time is spent on the application.
There is no fee to apply.
Cost: $5,500
